Cathedral City Boys and Girls Club

Jessup Auto Plaza hosted our 3rd BBQ with the Boys and Girls Club and it was definitely one of the best! The kids always love when we do BBQ’s for them. This time, they actually requested it again.

We also had Jessup “swag bags” made for the kids with notebooks and school supplies inside of a Nike drawstring backpack. We then raffled the bags off to the kids and they were ecstatic and loved the bags we had gotten for them.

At the end of the raffle the Boys and Girls club presented us with this poster they had all made to thank Jessup.

We would like to thank all of our employees that were there to help make this event a success, especially Braulio Rodriguez, Rich Rivas, Angel Segura, and Monica Morales.

We have been selected as the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) member of the month for December 2018. It is based on the following criteria:

1. Giving Back to the community
2. Creating Jobs
3. Education for the team for greatness
4. Engagement at events

We are honored to be recognized for this award and we look forward to continuing to serve the cities of Cathedral City City, Indio, Palm Desert, Palm Springs,LA Quinta, Banning and the surrounding communities.

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

If you’re not planning on returning to civilization at the end of the day or weekend, and you’re thinking about traveling alone, you need the right equipment. AEV is known for selling factory-quality aftermarket truck and SUV parts for hardcore off-roaders, AEV specializes in overlanding, a subset of off-roading for those who prefer to travel long distances off-road and camp along the way, completely self-sufficient.

For the ZR2 Bison, that means new bumpers with tubular steel protection for the corners of the truck. The front bumper gets a winch mount and the rear gets recovery points. The ZR2’s rock sliders remain to protect the rocker panels, but the Bison gets additional Boron steel skidplates under the truck to protect all the critical bits. The looks are updated with AEV 17-inch aluminum wheels in 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a new Silverado-inspired black grille with punched-out “Chevrolet” lettering, and AEV Bison badges. A snorkel is optional, and Chevy says it’s adjusted the DSSV shocks for rock crawling.

From the upgrade list, you can tell the ZR2 Bison is about getting into (and out of) places other trucks don’t go. Your standard 4X4 pickup isn’t much good at unmaintained trails, deep water crossings, or rock crawling, and specialized trucks like the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 2500 Power Wagon are way too big for the real backwoods stuff. The ZR2 Bison happily goes places normally reserved for Jeep Wranglers and custom-built off-roaders while providing you a bed you can fill with gear, attach racks to, and set up a tent on.

The 2019 Colorado Bison ZR2 does all the things a ZR2 can, but it also specializes in getting out of the worst situations you can put it in. What’s more, it offers you an excellent platform to build the off-roader of your dreams.

GM HD Truck

General Motors is currently hard at work on its next-generation full-size, heavy-duty trucks – the 2500HD and 3500HD versions of Chevy’s 2020 Silverado and GMC’s 2020 Sierra. And now, GM Authority has discovered that these future GM HD trucks – which we have seen undergoing testing many times before – will introduce an all-new eight-cylinder gasoline engine.

According to sources familiar with the automaker’s plans, the 2020 model year heavy duty GM trucks will utilize a new gasoline V8 engine displacing 6.6 liters. The motor will make around 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque – representing notable improvements of 40 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque – over the Vortec 6.0L V8 L96 that currently serves as the base engine in the current Silverado HD and Sierra HD.

The GM HD trucks will be completely overhauled for 2020 model year. The lineup will consist of the 2020 Silverado HD and 2020 SierraHD, in 2500HD and 3500HD guises.

Expect the new HD trucks to adopt an all-new exterior design similar to their respective light duty variants, while growing in size, shedding weight, improving capability, and having more comfort and convenience features, especially when it comes to towing technologies. An expanded model range consisting of Silverado Trail Boss and Sierra AT4 models is also expected.

Expect a launch in the third quarter of 2019 for the 2020 model year.

Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City

We are so happy to be a part of a monumental event at the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City.

The event was a huge success with the Windermere Homes and Estates, Real Estate agents who gave a $10,000 donation to the Club. Their contribution was based on $10 from every closing deal they had over a certain period of time. Additionally, Jessup is still doing a $25 test drive contribution for each test drive that takes place.

One of our very own, Braulio Rodriguez, is from Cathedral City and was part of the Boys and Girls Club as a student and he is now the Jessup Cadillac Sales Manager. Monica Morales was the representative for the Boys and Girls Club from Jessup Cadillac and she deserves special recognition for arranging the lunch and having Snow Cones for the little ones. A lot of hard work went into this event and we couldn’t have done it without our awesome Jessup staff.

Overall the Realtors/Brokers, Boys and Girls Club workers and students, and Jessup employees all enjoyed the Panera Lunch, waters and snow cones!

We will be having another BBQ at the Boys and Girls in January, 2019!
