GMC Sierra Denali

The 2019 GMC Sierra Denali is the high-end counterpoint to GM’s other pickup, the Chevy Silverado. It embodies a mixed message of simultaneously representing the plush luxury and tech-forward thinking that is a badge of the GMC line while shoehorning these features into a class of vehicle usually meant to be an absolute workhorse.

It’s style, paired with the 6.2 liter V8, is another example of the Sierra’s split personality. It’s certainly capable of towing and can really move its big ass just fine with those 420 horses galloping under the hood. Thanks to a 10-speed automatic transmission, it gets surprisingly good fuel economy for its class (17/23 MPG).

GMC has outfitted the Sierra Denali’s interior with every bell and whistle at their disposal. An arm-rest with a built-in wireless charging pad, optional in-car cellular wifi and options for holographic windshield projections too. All in addition to the big, bright dash-mounted heads-up display featuring Apple’s Carplay for easier navigation directly from your iPhone.

Should the Sierra Denali be considered a work truck? A party-mobile? An ideal road trip ride? It’s capable of almost anything you can throw at it, so test out all of the above. The starting price is $54,700 ($66k+ to get fully spec’d).

Breast Cancer Awareness

If you’ve haven’t already, come check out all of the pink flare that’s gone up in the dealership in support of breast cancer awareness month. From giant ribbons hanging on the dealership to the labels on our cookies. Jessup has gone pink.

In addition to our showroom, our website has also been accented in breast cancer awareness themes. See the changes. We want women to know that they are not alone in their fight.

Chevrolet is committed to continuing a 100-year legacy of caring. Because caring matters. It’s why they’re supporting the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer† program for the eighth year in a row. It’s why they’re adding to the nearly $10 million Chevy and their dealers have contributed to the cause so far. And, it’s why they’re dedicated to helping make it so that no one – from survivors, to those currently undergoing treatment, to the more than 250,000 people who will be diagnosed this year – has to face breast cancer alone.

Every time #IDriveFor is used on Twitter or Instagram, Chevy will contribute $5† to the American Cancer Society until we reach our $400,000 goal. Read more here.

Chevy Blazer

Back in 1967 the Blazer was a “thing”. Scratch that, it was THE thing. It has returned and it is rumored to be better than ever.

The trim levels for the 2019 Chevy Blazer have been uncovered prior to its rumored release date in early 2019.

In all, there will be a total of four general trim levels and seven specific ones, as follows:

1. L (1L0): includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats (retail order types only)

2. Blazer, comprised of three LT-level trims:

  • 1LT: includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats
  • 2LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and cloth seats
  • 3LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats

3. RS (1RS): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats

4. Premier (0HD): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats

Chevrolet re-introduced the Blazer name for the 2019 model year as an all-new crossover utility vehicle (CUV). The midsize crossover goes on sale in the spring of 2019, slotting between the compact Equinox and full-size Traverse.

The 2019 Blazer flaunts attention-grabbing design, seamlessly integrated customer-focused technologies and superb functionality, with the model range including the sporty Blazer RS and Blazer Premier trims. The new technology offered on the 2019 Blazer includes capless fuel fill, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, a Cargo Management system, and much more.

Buick Regal TourX

The new 2018 Buick Regal TourX takes an alternative route, combining the lower-to-the-ground poise of a car with, when the second row seats are folded down, a massive 74 cubic feet of cargo room.

It doesn’t look like most wagons, the Buick is swoopy and aggressive, recalling the Audi Allroad in stance but even more rakish in its lines. Standard wheels on all trim levels are 18-inch alloys, while available roof rails add additional cargo-loading versatility and enhance the adventurous look. This is a great-looking piece.

The top-line Essence includes such standard gear as a leather seats with 8-way power adjustments and heating up front, keyless entry with remote start, dual climate control, a heated leather wheel, a hands-free power liftgate, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Options included a Sights and Sounds package ($1,095) with 8-inch HD infotainment display and premium audio, a Driver Confidence package ($1,725), adding wireless charging plus a slew of active-safety features, a power moonroof ($1,200) and Smoked Pearl metallic paint ($395). The Essence trim starts at just under $36,000; with all the options tacked on my tester rolled out the showroom door at just over $40K.

The engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four with 250 hp and 295 pound-feet, both peaks arriving at 5,000 rpm. The mill moves the Buick well (0 to 60 mph in well under 7 seconds), puts the torque down without a skip (thanks to the AWD system), and for the most part performs with smoothness and refinement. The standard transmission is an 8-speed automatic, and while its cogs are well-spaced, shifts tend to come slowly. Rowing the center-console lever manually improves shift quickness (there are no wheel paddles).

Above all, the Regal TourX stands out for great looks, outstanding room, and a sticker that undercuts admittedly more upscale rivals by $5K or more. Given that it’s a sleek wagon, you also get to stand out from the run-of-the-mill crossover/SUV crowd.

Two highly anticipated new GM vehicles, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2019 GMC Sierra have arrived at Jessup Auto Plaza!

GMC SUV

A new entry-level crossover from GMC is getting closer to production.
Spy photographers caught a heavily camouflaged version of the vehicle — it is smaller than the compact GMC Terrain — testing for the first time in Arizona.

The baby GMC is expected to be based on GM’s Gamma-2 architecture that underpins the Buick Encore, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Trax in the U.S.
The expected subcompact crossover could be called Granite, after a 2010 concept. It is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2020.
It’s hard to tell many design aspects of the vehicle.

GMC has been planning a smaller crossover/SUV for some time. However, unlike early expectations of such a vehicle being a body-on-frame Jeep Wrangler-fighter, the production crossover is expected to compete against the Jeep Renegade and Honda HR-V.

Duncan Aldred, head of Buick and GMC worldwide, has said a vehicle smaller and less expensive than the Terrain – starting at about $26,000 – is “a logical place” for the brand to expand. It is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2020.

Chevrolet Camaro

Models throughout the Chevrolet Camaro range are getting big price deductions for the 2019 model year, and perhaps nowhere is that more important than with the base 1LS model, which will start at $25,995 including destination – a full $1,120 cheaper than the 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost at $27,115. Option both cars with automatic transmissions and the price disparity jumps by another $100 to $1,220.

According to Ford Authority, the Ford Mustang EcoBoost model’s new $27,115 price tag represents a $370 price bump from 2018 – an odd move, considering that the car’s chief rival from GM went in the opposite direction. Still, that price gets you a bigger, 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 engine, and in the case of the automatic, two extra forward gears; Camaro buyers are forced to spring for at least the LT1-powered 1SS in order to get the same ten-speed slushbox.

The biggest price drop for the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro has been with respect to the 1LT and 2LT models, which have seen their prices slashed by $1,200 and $3,000, respectively. Yet oddly, the Camaro 1SS and 2SS haven’t come down in price at all for the new model year, with the 1SS starting at $37,995 – $1,645 more than a base Ford Mustang GT.

DealerRater, the world’s leading car dealer review website, has announced the winners of its annual Dealer of the Year Award program. Award recipients are recognized for distinction in outstanding customer service based upon consumer reviews of dealership experiences shared on DealerRater.com and DealerRater.ca.

DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year Awards are given annually to the top U.S. and Canadian car dealers based on a Bayesian algorithm called PowerScore™, which considers the dealership’s average DealerRater star-rating as well as the total number of reviews written about the dealership during the 2017 calendar year. Categories for scoring include customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing and overall experience.

“This year’s Dealer of the Year Award winners stood out because of their dedication to providing superior customer service,” said Jamie Oldershaw, General Manager of DealerRater. “Today, deals are won and lost on experience, and it’s clear from their online reviews that these dealerships understand how to take care of their customers. DealerRater offers shoppers the opportunity to select the right person at the right dealership so their online experience translates seamlessly to their offline experience, and for dealers this means they are building rapport with an informed, ready-to-buy customer long before shoppers show up on the lot.”

To qualify for the DealerRater Dealer of the Year Awards, new- and used-car dealers must have had at least 25 new reviews written on DealerRater.com during 2017 and averaged a minimum of a four out of five-star rating. Winners selected to receive the distinction scored the highest within their brand categories nationwide for U.S. and Canada.

Jessup Auto Plaza has received Dealer of the Year awards for both the 2017 and 2018 year!

Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is giving its pickup bed more cargo space and flexibility than ever before. It’s officially been dubbed the Durabed.

The new Silverado 1500 bed has the highest cargo volume, box complexity, box length at floor, 12 fixed tie downs and an exclusive tailgate.

Chevrolet is making every truck lover’s dream come true. The Silverado Short and Standard box are a whopping 10-cubic feet bigger than the 2018 cargo box space. The Short Box comes in at 63-cubic feet, the Standard Box is 73-cubic feet and the Large Box is 89-cubic feet.

For 2019, higher-grade steel is being used in the structure of the new Durabed. The quality of the bed floor supplies has been enhanced as well.

The availability of the tie-downs has also been improved and are now positioned at varying heights. The bed is also accessible with integrated, in-bed LED lighting and a 110/120-volt power outlet. A light at the top rear cab comes standard on all Silverado models.

“The bed is the heart and soul of any pickup, so we made several improvements to the bed of the all-new Silverado to give our customers an even better hauling experience,” said Tim Herrick, GM executive chief engineer in a statement.

“We’ve added so many features and benefits that it deserves its own name-Durabed.”

You can get a first look and even stretch out in the new bed at your local Chevrolet dealers in the fall.
